Building Community Partnerships
for a Safer Hawaii

Building Safer Communities Through Education, Communication, and Connection

Safer Communities Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping neighborhoods across Hawaiʻi become safer, more connected, and better prepared.

We believe community safety starts with education, awareness, and shared responsibility. Our role is to provide the tools, training, and systems that empower residents, neighborhood leaders, and community organizations to work together—calmly, responsibly, and proactively.

This website serves as the gateway to our programs and resources.
All participation, training, and collaboration happens inside our Online Community Safety Portal.

The Online Community Safety Portal

The Heart of Safer Communities Hawaiʻi

The Online Community Safety Portal is the central hub for all Safer Communities Hawaiʻi programs.

The portal brings together residents, HOAs, neighborhood leaders, and community partners in one secure space where they can learn, collaborate, and take meaningful steps toward safer neighborhoods.

Inside the portal, members gain access to education, tools, and communication systems designed to prevent issues before they escalate and improve coordination when concerns arise.

Inside the Portal

  • Online courses focused on community and neighborhood safety
  • Live-streamed trainings and workshops
  • Recorded educational sessions available on demand
  • Resource library covering crime prevention, fire safety, and preparedness
  • Central access to announcements, alerts, and updates

Education builds confidence.
Confidence leads to awareness.
Awareness leads to safer communities.

Real-Time SMS Safety Reporting & Alerts

Simple. Responsible. Non-Confrontational.

The Real-Time SMS Safety Reporting Program allows residents to report safety concerns quickly and responsibly using their mobile phones.

This system improves early awareness and coordinated response while discouraging confrontation and misinformation.

What Can Be Reported

  • Suspicious or concerning activity
  • Graffiti or vandalism
  • Fire hazards or unsafe conditions
  • Safety issues in shared spaces
  • Lost pets or time-sensitive notices

How It Works

  • Residents submit a text or mobile report
  • Photos may be included when appropriate
  • Reports are received by designated community administrators
  • Issues are documented, monitored, and addressed

Strong relationships are the foundation of safer communities.

Safer Communities Hawaiʻi encourages programs that bring neighbors, volunteers, and leaders together to build trust and shared responsibility.

This Program Includes

  • Community meetings and gatherings
  • Safety-focused workshops and events
