Training and Program Offerings
Online Community Safety Portal
The Online Community Safety Portal is the central hub for all Safer Communities Hawaii programs. Through the portal, residents, HOAs, and community leaders can access training, resources, and tools designed to help neighborhoods take proactive steps toward safety.
Community Education & Training
We provide ongoing community safety education to help residents understand and address common neighborhood safety challenges. Trainings are offered through Live online sessions, In-person workshops (when available) and Recorded courses inside the Online Portal.
Neighborhood Watch Support
Safer Communities Hawaii supports neighborhoods interested in organizing or strengthening Neighborhood Watch programs. Support includes Guidance on forming and sustaining watch groups, Education on best practices and clear boundaries, Communication tools and templates and Coordination with community partners confrontation.
Neighborhood Groups Collaboration
Clear communication is essential to community safety. We help communities improve communication through: Community newsletters, Email updates and announcements, SMS/text message alerts. Emergency notifications and safety advisories and Rapid response warning systems for hazards and incidents.
AI Chatbot Safety Reporting
Safer Communities Hawaii offers a Real-Time SMS Safety Reporting system that allows residents to report community safety concerns quickly and responsibly using their mobile phones. This program supports early awareness and faster response by making reporting simple and accessible.
Community Engagement & Connection
Strong relationships are the foundation of safer communities.Safer Communities Hawaii encourages programs and activities that bring neighbors together, including Community meetings and gatherings, Educational events and workshops and Safety-focused neighborhood activities.
Public Safety & Community Partnerships
Safer Communities Hawaii works collaboratively with:
- Local police departments
- Fire departments
- HOAs and community associations
- Nonprofit and community organizations
Our role is to support coordination, communication, and education — not to replace public safety agencies.
